01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Situated in the charming 20th arrondissement of Paris, Café Martin offers a delightful escape into classic French bistro dining with a contemporary twist. This inviting French restaurant and bistro is a haven for those seeking a vibrant yet cozy atmosphere, perfectly complemented by attentive service and an authentic neighborhood vibe. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual coffee or settling in for a full meal, Café Martin’s welcoming terrace overlooking a serene square invites you to soak in the local Parisian rhythm, complete with children playing nearby and locals enjoying their leisurely breaks.

The menu at Café Martin reads like a celebration of refined yet approachable French cuisine. Start your meal with the exquisite Samossa De Chèvre Au Miel Et Noix, where creamy goat cheese is perfectly balanced by the subtle sweetness of honey and the earthy crunch of walnuts. Fans of seafood should not miss the Croustillant De Queue De Gambas Au Basilic, where crispy textures meet fresh basil’s aromatic kick, or indulge in the beautifully layered Mille Feuilles De Légumes featuring fresh ricotta and smoky salmon that melt in your mouth.

Salad lovers will find themselves spoiled for choice with options like the Martin Salad, a lively medley of Chinese cabbage, spicy chicken, and crispy ravioli dunked in a delicate Chinese sauce, or the Océane Salade, a luxurious combination of smoked salmon, tuna gently cooked in soy, and spicy gambas atop fresh greens. These salads embody a perfect harmony between classic French techniques and playful global influences, enhancing each bite with vibrant colors and diverse textures.

For those looking for a well-rounded dining experience, the Café Martin’s formula menus offer great value—choose between an entrée and a main or a main and dessert, each thoughtfully priced at €16.00. And don’t forget to end on a sweet note with their luscious house-made ice creams and sorbets, available in indulgent flavors like vanilla, caramel, or the refreshing zing of pomme cidre.

What truly elevates the experience at Café Martin is the warm, genuine hospitality that countless guests rave about. From Antony, their friendly and knowledgeable waiter, to the hard-working team who make you feel instantly at home, every visit feels personal and memorable. As one visitor beautifully put it, the café is a beloved "immediate favourite," a place where community spirit breathes through every corner, whether you’re sipping a perfectly brewed coffee in the morning or enjoying an evening accompanied by live music and the gentle chatter of Parisian life.

While some guests note a slightly higher price point, it’s a testament to the quality of ingredients, care in preparation, and unique locale that Café Martin occupies. This bistro is far more than just a restaurant—it’s an everyday sanctuary for locals and visitors alike craving authentic French flavors served with kindness and a dash of joie de vivre. For those exploring the 20th arrondissement, Café Martin is a delightful culinary gem not to be missed.

This is a wonderful cafe facing onto a neighborhood square where there are children playing and parents catching up over a croissant and coffee. The bacon is fabulous and the eggs are so fresh they must have chickens in the back. Lovely spot and our immediate favourite.

Vibes 10/10, big outside seating, nice small, green square with kids playing. Service is nice, working hard, speaks English, although a bit understaffed. Can't judge the food quality, didn't end up staying for dinner. You get some free popcorn to snack and make your thirsty. But definitely perfect for a Parisian evening. We got lucky with a city DJ that evening!

The restaurant is so good and people are so nice. I ordered a vegetarie burger, my friends bought steak, fish and chips etc. We are all satisfied with the taste of the meals. But the price is a little bit high. Of course it's in Paris, still appropriate and worths your money. You will not regret if you select this restaurant.

This is a great cafe near Père-Lachaise cemetery and Gambetta train station. It has the typical Parisian restaurant vibes— with indoor and outdoor/smoker seating. The food is delicious and reasonably priced for the city. They have a couple of vegetarian options alongside some creative and traditional French options. The staff have always been very kind (which I really appreciate seeing as I don’t speak French). I’ve visited twice and both times I left really pleased.
